Ligue 1 Results

Paris Saint-Germain took a huge step towards the Ligue 1 title, beating closest rivals RC Lens at the Parc des Princes on Saturday to move eight points clear.

Toulouse 1-2 Lyon

A late Logan Costa own goal gave Lyon a crucial three points in their quest to secure European football for next season. They remain five points off fifth place.

Rennes 3-0 Reims

Rennes are also in the hunt and just two points behind fifth-placed Lille. A Jeremy Doku double in the first half killed the tie as a contest before Arthur Theate completed the scoring in the second half.

PSG 3-1 Lens

A Salis Abdul Samed red card killed Lens’ chances of getting a result at the Parc des Princes. Kylian Mbapé, Vitinha and Lionel Messi all got on the scoreline before the break before Przemyslaw Frankowski netted a consolation goal from the spot. Lens are now nine points off the league leaders.

Lille 2-1 Montpellier

Lille had to come from behind against Montpellier. Jonathan David continued his prolific season, netting the equaliser, and then just two minutes later, Remy Cabella got the winner. The result consolidates their fifth-place.

Auxerre 2-1 Nantes

Antoine Kombouaré branded his team as “sh*t” in the wake of the defeat against relegation rivals Auxerre. The result takes Auxrre above Nantes, who are just two points above the drop-zone.

Brest 1-0 Nice

Nice’s stuttering league form continued against Brest, who got another crucial three points in their quest for survival. Les Aiglons have one eye on their UEFA Europa Conference League second leg against FC Basel.

Clermont Foot 2-1 Angers

Clermont Foot are comfortably safe and could even finish in the top half of the table. Angers are bottom of the table, and their relegation to Ligue 2 could soon be confirmed.

Strasbourg 3-1 Ajaccio

Ajaccio are another team that look destined for the drop. For Strasbourg, the win doesn’t take them out of the relegation zone, but they remain two points away from safety after Brest’s win against Nice.

Monaco 3-1 Lorient

Monaco are just two points off the podium after a comfortable win against Lorient. Krépin Diatta and Aleksandr Golovin got first-half goals before Kevin Volland added to the score in the second half.

Marseille 3-1 Troyes

Vitinha scored his first goals for Marseille in an easy win against a limp Troyes side that showed little fight. Like Ajaccio and Angers, their fate looks sealed, but Marseille now leapfrog Lens into second.
